Can anyone relate? with chronic hiccups after every meal and every drink (water, anything)? I'm 30 months out and this has been going on for about 6 weeks. Tips? Tricks? Diet modification? No burps, but weird hiccups. Help

I don't have chronic hiccups like it sounds that you have .. but I do get hiccups just about after every meal and sometimes after having water or a cup of tea ... For me, the hiccups are a GOOD sign that everything's going down properly... I get a bit concerned if I don't get them. Carol

Another partner here! I don't get hiccups after EVERY meal or beverage, but I get them pretty doggone often. I seem to get them in spells - I'll have "hicuppy" days, a few in a row, then I won't get them for awhile. Then they're back. And they are kind of weird, too. I've not really thought about stopping them. I think I've always figured I had eaten too fast, but I'm not so sure that's got anything to do with it. Let us know if you find out what's behind this little mystery! Kathy

I get them when I eat a litle too much. I always see it as a sign to STOP eating. Of course, I always got hiccups a little more often than the average person anyway. Joni

I get the hiccups when I have overeaten or have eaten too quickly. I know that it is definately time to stop/slow down if they surface....

I have gotten these since day 1! I use it as my signal to stop eatting actually - After every meal and if I drink to much to fast - I will hiccup. It just happens... I dont think I can avoid it.

Hiccupping is my sign that it is time to stop eating. Someplace somewhere I saw an article about what happens when the vagus nerve is disturbed during WLS. Hiccupping was one of the ways that people react when eating following disruption of the vagus nerve. I'll have to dig around and see if I can find that post. I hope I saved it. Sue O.

the hiccup is a reflex when your stomach get full, presses on the diaphragm and a hiccup is born, do it every meal, in fact it is my signal that I get one more bite at most
