I'm going to do it
Hi grads,
I too am a grad, 2yrs out as of 10-20-04. I'm in onederland, barely! at 198 and am still happy to be here but the buck has stopped there as they say.
I was just cruising some of the grad posts looking for some motivation to get back on the horse and I got it in the strangest way.
Observing that alot, and I mean alot! of us are sad, angry, frustrated, etc about the regain or not making it to goal just gave me a moment of clairity to get back on my own horse.. I have really stalled out for the last 9 mos and sometimes I think we really don't want to face what it's going to take from the stall out. Heck, we had the guts to have the surgery, now let's have the guts to finish the race.
The posts really gave me an eye opener and here's what came to me; I have the tool!, I have so much more energy and not as much embarassment in public so I am going to quit my whining and work the plan that got me here, protien, exercise, water and positive attitue.
Thank you all for your posts and perspectives, no matter what they are. All of our trials and tribulations that we share can help so many others.
Power to the pouch!, just a little RNY humor.

Funny I should find your post I just posted something like this on another board....
Here it is..
Okay I was realy inspired by being in the 250's range this morning for the second day.
Then I was talking to a friend about how my surgon expectes me to be at 180 by march..and I started to panic, wow so much loss to get to such a small number in such a short amount of time.
Then I sat down and did some figuring, useing 260 for a starting point that would leave me 80 lbs to lose in 4 months, That is 20 lbs a month, or 5 lbs a week avrage.
I have done that in the past easily.
I know what small changes I can make to help this along...No more soda,no carbs after lunch,no eating 4 hours b4 bed, add 5 more min to each excersize i do, and then there is the fact everyone insists when hubby gets home I will be burning more calories then I can take in...lol
I realy think I can do this, I think it's possable..Just in the last month I went from 278 down to 258 (yeah i know it was the paxil, don't burst my bubble yet...lol)
Man I'm gonna miss my diet pepsi..again..
Hugs,
Shel

Hey Tammy .. GOOD FOR YOU!!
You have a great attitude and will make the changes you need to so you can be where you wanna be..
One thing, when I was between 2-3 yrs out I was trying my darndest to be a size 7 because I saw so many others loose so much more than I did, I was like what the heck??!! Why couldnt I do it... well I found that I had become more critical than ever about my looks and skin. I finally came to accept that size 10-12 was not so bad from size 26-28. I work out and am fit and feel great right? Thats why I got my plastics done this past summer. I am OH SO HAPPY!!
I guess my point is, our goals change over time with our bodies and attitudes. I find nothing wrong with being a 12, sure I wanna be a 7 but just wasn't in the cards for me. Be happy where ever you are until you get past the next obstacle, remember we are living this adventure , one chapter at a time....
Try training for a marathon, or a 5k,10k or something like that, that will really tone you up. When I did the marathon I got rid of all that junk in my trunk and toned up nicely, but alas still 195 back then too. Remember muscle weighs more than fat. I was think about the size or weight though just trying to get thru the training..
Ok I have rambled on gotta go to work , good luck to you and keep up the good work!!
