Since RNY in 4/01, I have been sugar sensitive, and I've not minded, because it has helped me reach and maintain my weight. However, it's starting to become worse. My surgeon (who I haven't seen since my 3 yr. anniversary) says it's very uncommon to still dump this far out. Anyone? TIA, Lisa

Well, nice he told you that it's very uncommon.... so what did he tell you that could be done or that he would do about it? Janet

I was suprised to read your post about not dumping after so many years out. I know many post ops who are farther out than I am - 5, 7, 10 year or more and those that dump - DUMP. It's not a short term thing for many and i've never heard of that before. I know a woman who's 25 years post op and she still dumps on fats if she eats too much. When you have surgery and find out if you dum*****t that's forever I always thought. Those that dump always dump. Just like those that are lactose intolerant after surgery always have that. My sugery angel is over 8 years post op and still dumps from sugar - she did from the beginning and she does not. Same amount, same symptoms. I don't think it's unusual - some are dumpers some aren't.

I still dump on foods, sugars, fats, etc.....all the time...... You should see your surgeon at least yearly, you know, they are responsible for us for life now..... Darlene
