Ok...I have another question....What are the best type of vitamins to take or maybe a suggestion or 2. My old PCP had gotten me some samples or a soluble vitamin it had an orange flavor but could never find it in the store. I take a subligual b-12 daily..... I no longer take iron, my body doesn't absorb them and my hemotologist said we tried to many and nothing worked so I go through iv iron, when my levels drop to low. We thought it would stabalize after a hystorectomy but it didn't. Gosh I have too many dr's. I just wish my surgeon wasn't 2 hours away it would make things easier and have better access to the facilities there. I am trying my best to get my azz in gear here and kick the crap out of this gain. My dad decided today he wants to go to minnesota in january and I have to be ready. Thanks Cheri

Hi Cheri!! I like your name I take bariatric advantage vitamins and all of my labs have been great and I am 17+ months out. It costs me about $40 per month on the auto ship program, a little expensive for some, but if my labs are good, then I will continue to take them. You can go to www.bariatricadvantage.com and see what they have. There are also vitamins formutaled for bariatric patients like VistaVitamins (online) and Optisource (you can get these from Walgreens $25 a bottle) So there are a few that you can check on. Alot of people use Centrum complete or even pre-natal and take 2x the recommended dose. I would run it past your surgeon or nutritionist to see what they have to say. Take care! Cheri

I'm 2 years out and just had my labwork done. It was absolutely perfect, so I'm pretty satisfied that I'm taking everything as I should. Here's my daily dosages: Breakfast: 1 Centrum, 1 Gentle Iron, 1 Stress B + Vitamin C, 1 B-12 SL 500mcg, Midday: 1 Citrical Dinner: 1 Centrum, 1 Gentle Iron Bedtime: 1 Citrical I was taking 2 Stress B + Vitamin C, but my folate level was very high, so I reduced that dosage to 1 per day. Hope that helps! Mary B. 260/150

I always was told we had to take fast disolving vitamins or that they would pass through our shortened systems before being absorbed. Yet you say you take Centrum and your labs are okay. Or is that recommendation for newWLS patients. Ater a year my tummy has stretched a little so I eat more. Maybe I could take the regular vitamins. They gotta be cheaper than the Building Block bariatric vitamins I take from bbvitamins.com
