Disgusted
Hi everyone!
I was three years post op, open RNY, in August. I never got to goal weight. I lost about 150 the first 9 months and stopped cold. I had my TT last December and lost about 25 pounds during that ordeal. Well, I gained it all back and then like 10 extra to just top it all off. The thing is, I never stopped exercising. I work out doing 45 minutes to 1 hour of hard cardio 3-4 times a week. Twice a week I throw in some weight training. I am very healthy in that way. I love exercise and have been pretty consistant for years.
Ugh! This morning I went to put on a pair of $100 jeans and could not get them up over my hips. I HAVE to get this weight off. I do not care if I am ever thin thin, but my jeans are important to me. I know what I have to do, I just need a kick my ass to get me there. I had my low sugar oatmeal for breakfast and am physically hungry already.
I hate dieting!
Time to go back at look at your diet. If it's not the exercise, then it's the food. It really does help to go back to basics. For some of us that means Protein drinks 3 times a day and 3 protein packed meals and keeping our carb counts under 30. It sucks, but you got to do what's necessary. We are still food addicts and even though we can't consume copius amounts of food anymore,we can still graze and eat the wrong stuff. I don't know what else to tell you except that you need to go back to basics. Protein, veggie, water, exercise, vitamins. Start logging your calories, fats, carbs and sugars.
Hang in there, you can do it!

Terri, don't diet eat for your health. That is why you excersie right? Then do yourself a favor and complete the circle. Don't go hungry, eat carrots, or a warm vegie soup. Drink fluids to try and span out the meals. Eating protein keeps us full longer try the high protein oatmeal or an egg and cottage cheese for BF. I try to eat as whole as i can meaning as few instant products as possible. I wish you luck and hope maybe your excersise bug will bite me. God Bless, Melinda

Hi there Teri,
Well I totally FEEL your PAIN!! Ok so I am about 3.5 years out had my tummy and arms done in June -happily a size 12. Lost about 18 pds total including the skin loss. Now fast forward three months and I am teetering a weight gain of 5-10pds. Mind you I am like you, I like exercise, do it mostly every day, weight train 2-3 times a week too.... I never got to goal weight but I was a happy size 10-12 and loved my body.
Now what the HECK!! I am struggle to keep my 180 pds 10's a bit tight and 12 a bit loose so I guessin I am in between.
So here is the dilemia, I know myself and my evils...I know that its my grazing and my sweet tooth gets me in trouble. I say back to basics and back to support groups, if your not doing it already. Log your food again, we all know what we need to do to get back on track. Hang in there and dont say DIET....evil word!! I call it restructing my eating habits.... yet again as its is a constant struggle for me.
Oh yea, I almost forgot, I was talking to one of my fellow WLS'sers who said we are STILL swollen from the tt and it takes about a year for us to see true results too.
Hugzzz.....

Man that is so frustrating!!!! Sigh,,I can't give you advice because I suffer thru the same things,,,I am not at goal, and I am hovering...I can't eat that kind of oatmeal tho because it makes me hungrier later on..I do the quick oats thing but saw on Oprah that they suggested "steel cut" oatmeal,,must be more fiber content in it.....I'd say stock up on fresh fruits and veggies and stick to protein,,but I will just give you a hug online because if your like me,,you know that part already>>>>>>>>>>>>
