Hello All, I had my surgery in April of 2005. Here's what I'm experiencing, up 5 lbs, down 5 lbs, up 10 lbs., down 10 lbs., all in a week's time. Now, I've had plastic surgery and they took off 4 lbs. of skin, so that's not it. I go from 135 to 138 to 140 to 144 on any given day of the week. I'm scared to death, Has anyone else experienced this? Thanks, Sherri

My weight fluctuates multiple pounds in a week - heck, sometimes even in a day. These are normal fluctuations for me. I've always weighed daily and gotten used to it. As long as it keeps going back down things are fine. Kathy

I have always been like that! That is why you are only suppose to weight in once a week. I know I am on the scale everyday too so I know how bad mine does it. I am up 6 pounds today from yesterday! Tomorrow hopefully I will be down again. Brigitte

Hi Sherri. I do fluctuate occasionally. It can be really irritating, LOL! Like today I was up 1lb. Now I know that's no big deal, but I was SOOOOO good yesterday~worked out, ate right all day, got in 100oz of water, etc~so I was hoping for a loss! I weigh in daily and keep it written on my calendar so I can track it from month to month to see the patterns that my body goes thru. Don't get scared~its normal and as long as you know you're not grazing, eating poorly, etc then you'll be fine! Tracy B 328/150 5'9"

My weight does the same thing. I can weigh 135 one morning and the very next day weigh 145. And then back down again. I think as obese people we never knew what weight did for normal people. All I ever saw was up. LOL. But anyway my doc says this is normal for weight to fluctuate like that. It depends on so many things like more salt one day than another day. Or bowel movements, PMS, and all other sorts of things. So, as long as I know that I am doing right and eating right then I don't worry about it anymore. But if I know I have been eating bad or neglecting my routine then I watch what I eat for a few days and get back on track. Melissa Lap Rny 1/15/04 277/135 (most days)

Hey there! Hope you don't mind me butting in here I haven't posted in so long and then it was on the general board. I think I'll stick around here on the graduate board. Anywho... My weight does the exact same thing. No apparent reason either. Especially the days I thought I've done really well, it's up. Then down, who knows. I've gotten used to that process but last week, up 7lbs! Never gained that much before. In fact, on monthly visits I have never gained since my surgery. So I was freaked. Today though, back to 140. Weird. I guess as long as it keeps coming off. It's also a good wake up call too, I think. Makes me aware of things so I don't get too comfortable. Take care, Patty Open - March 2005 267-140ish

Hi Sherri~ I fluctuate anywhere from 3-5 lbs. I was told that this is normal. That it could be water retention/a BM. I know how frustrating it is and I've just grown to accept it.
