medic alert bracelets..do you wear one?
hi everyone, I used to wear my bracelet but then after I lost all my weight, the thing kept falling off. so its just sitting in in my jewelery box... but I am going to purchase a new one and wanted some imput.
I am two and 1/2 years post op and have pretty much lost all i am going to lose and have kept the same weight for over a year. I plan on purchasing a really nice one this time... last time it was just a cheap one made of stainless steel but I put some pretty silver charms on it to make it look nice.
what should I put on it?
I also have a doctors appointment with my GBS surgeon next week because he is going to help my OBGYN with surgery and I plan on asking him what I should put on it too.
and besides Laurens Hope, what is another good place to purchase a nice looking bracelet?

Hi Donna,
I am not a WLS grad, but I'm just skimming through some of these message boards checking out things and I found this question! I've read that Dixie Chick from OH makes jewelry - and even medical IDs. Maybe you should contact her and see what she's got! You know what? I just found out that there's a jewelry making message board (gosh, there's so much on this site)! Here's the link...maybe these guys can help you!

Good luck!

One side note, if the bracelet looks really pretty and very much like real jewlery the rescue squad or ER docs might pass it right on by.
I haven't done it yet but I'm going to print a business card with medical information and emergency contact numbers and laminate it and keep it in my wallet next to my insurance cards. Figure the hospital will be looking for that information fast! LOL!

This is a good site for nice bracelets... I ordered mine and my mom's id tags from there, and then ended up making our own bracelets to clip on the tags. BUT this site is reasonablly priced for both...
