frustrated

I'm frustrated because I am gaining slightly. I started to hold water again in my legs, funny, haven't for over a year? My thyroid was out a few months ago, and dr upped my synthroid, so that should be kicking in by now. I am working out hard at kung fu 2 times a week....like I've been all along. I'm not binging either. This may be a typical day for me, protein drink and vitamins, yogert, cheese or 1/2 grilled cheese sandwich, 5 prunes, 4 sf chocolate cookies, water, glass milk, protein drink and vitamins, 1 c baked cheetos, 3 slices cheese, a few bites of dinner ( because I drive at work in the evenings, I eat on the run), sometimes 12 almonds for added protein. I have been trying to drink more water during the day too, working on getting in those 8 glasses. I've only gained about 5 lbs, but this week I've gone from 121-124. This is just frustrating, because I don't want to eat less. I like my frequent small meals, and I am not overwhelmingly hungry either. My bowels are not as regular as usual either, which is funny, never had a problem with that. So, I need your pearls of wisdom!!! help! blessings, Tami

Well congrats on your weight loss. I have the same problem week to week. Can I tell you that after a good bm I can loose up to 3 lbs. It sounds crazy but if you are having a problem going it could be part of it. If you are holding water it could also be that. You may want to go to the doc to see if maybe you need more than the one pill you are taking. Hope this helps you some. I think the small meals are the way to go and get in the fluids! Hugs, Bridget

I bet i****er retention b/c you're not eating that much calorie wise. Make sure you get your water in~I try to get in 100oz per day~but that will help to flush you out especially when retaining fluids. Are you carb sensitive at all?? As far as going regularly, I have to take 3 stool softeners every night to keep me on track. My dr also recommended having 1/2 C of Fiber One cereal daily b/c most post ops don't get enough fiber in their diet. Also, I will notice a 3-4lb shift around that time of the month. As soon as I'm done, the weight gain is gone on its own~could it be that this week?????? Good Luck and keep us posted on how things are going! Tracy B 328/150 5'9"

Tami, sorry I can't offer any advise, I am dealing with the flucuations also. I rarely saw an increase in the scale during the weight loss, now from day to day I can see the scale move from 119 - 124 and back down. Each day is different and yes a mind-blower. I agree with the other posters, changes in bowel movements could be part of the problem. Are you still doing fitday? Maybe a change in carb intake for a couple of days will make things happen. Best wishes, Dana
