PAINS ACROSS BELLY????

I was wondering if anyone has had almost a charlie horse across your stomach area. It hapeens about 3 inches below my boobs all the way down about 8 inches and it's just exactly like a charlie horse? I'm going to see my doctor but he doesn't seem to know much about RNYers. The attacks started several months ago and are getting closer. 2 weeks this time. I don't have a gall bladder and I haven't for almost 20 years. Thanks for your input! Brigitte

Yes -- I get it sometimes when I am exercising my abs and over-do it. I just flip over on my stomach to stretch it out -- or stand up and lean back. Deb

How's your potassium? I know when people get leg cramps, it can be because potassium is low. Also, depending on the kind of pain you are having, it might also be adhesions. But I'm not a doctor, so this is just guesswork on my part. And if your PCP doesn't know, then call your surgeon and ask him/her. Don't settle for ignorance - get an answer from someone who DOES understand the RNY. --BT

I had it happen once..and that was after excersise. It was also because I did not have enough water in me. A little water, a bananna and I was good as gold.

When I see the doctor Friday I'm going to suggest potassium. I know it's no****er because I try to get in 128 oz a day and I eat a banana a day. I'm glad it's happened to other people before. I have a cleaning business I do a LOT of vacuuming I wonder if I could be causing it from that?? Scary and painful not a good combination. Thanks guys. Brigitte

That is exactly what happens to me when I have something with that horrible Maltitol! I mean I want to die. It is awful. I think it is my way of dumping. I will not use anything with that garbage in it ever again. I will risk eating a Hershey's kiss once in a while before I do SF candy again.

I've had those too but those are lower on me. These are up to high and usually I wake up in the middle of the night with them. Tomorrow I go to the doctor and I'm going to ask him. If he has no explanation I'm going to call my surgeon and see what he has to say about it Thanks Brigitte

Go read my post about Update/Very Long....They thought I had internal hernias and small bowel obstruction. Best of luck to you.....get an oral contrast CT Scan...no questions asked, but don't drink barium, has sugar, use the other stuff you can mix with Cyrstal lite, preferably a flavor you don't drink that much because you will hate it afterwards. Went to doctor today and he thinks it's from my Wellbutrin. I have been having restless leg syndrome also and I think he may be right. I'm switching anti depressants to Lesapro and going to have a bunch of blood work done to make sure Im not lacking in something important. Then he said we would go from there. Hopefully he is right and nothing else is wrong. Brigitte
