Dinner plans in LEXINGTON!
LOL - I don't even take my clothes off when I take a shower, it's gonna take a whole lot more then Ta'kill-ya to get me to do it in Lexie-town!
Ive saved the website - I have a feeling Im gonna become their BEST customer and I blame YOU! Good grief, I put on FIVE pounds just reading about this one (Butter walnut bourbon fudge) ....even tried to see if my screen had "scratch and sniff" abilities.
Im bringing the last two with me and they officially have YOUR name and DEE DEE's on it - happy drinking, er, eating. LOL, as I just warned Dee Dee, the rum they put in their cakes, is not just baked in, it's also poured on top, so some of the fumes can make you ...happy(ier?)!
As far as what to wear - from what I read, the ASIAN WIND, although nice, takes casual dress too. I know the place we're thinking about going to on SATURDAY is more of a fancier place (De Sha's across from the Radisson) .... sigh, prolly have to pull out my black dress slacks for that one, ugh, and heels no less?
.... but I'm coming in Jeans and a nice top, for the Thursday dinner. lol - can't take the polynesian-redneck outta this gal, no matter how hard they try!
WOW - Im glad you've decided to do the Costume Party TOO!!!! Good for you, Delores, sometimes in life, it's all about living for the IMPROMPTU moment, ya know?
Hey? Im NOT bringing the rum cake to dinner on Thursday, since I know you'll be there on Friday - just remind me to grab it from my room. They're miniatures and pre-packaged individually, so you won't have any problems tossing in your bag or car.
Hi Lei, I would love to meet you all for Friday nights dinner before the bash. i have a dilema though. My DIL (paul's wife) passed away last week and was buried on the 15th. I am not sure it would be appropiate for me to attend any of these events but I want to meeet you guys so bad. Another good choice if you like Sushi and japeenese food is the Tashabana. it is near the Marriot and probably about ten or fifteen minutes away from the Radison. The Sushi is to die for. I will let you know about Wednesday this weeek. I just had oral surgery this morning and am feelin thee Vicodan right now. lei, my eemail is [email protected]
No way, DELORES a sushi eater???? I never woulda' figured that, same with DeeDee, and here I thought I was so unique and special, hmmmph!
Hey sweet lady, I'm so sorry to hear about Paul's wife, that's TERRIBLE news. I remember you talking about her illness, and please forgive me if I'm wrong here, it was several months ago on the main board, but I thought you said cancer? WHATEVER the case may be, it's sad and unfortunate and my condolences to you and your son.
As far as appropriate goes? I find it HARD to believe that your son would NOT want his momma to go out and have dinner with friends, attend portions of the conference, or ball, etc. Seriously, he's NEVER come across as self absorbed or selfish - and although those are the wrong words for a time like this, I still can't see him being so dependent on his mom -- that he would begrudge you some time away? Yah, I could be totally off base, but I don't think I am. LOL, he's my Paul's twin, rememember?
It would be AWESOME if you could at least sneak away for a couple of hours, for dinner? You have to eat ...besides, it's taken FIVE years to actually get so many of us under the same roof, surely that's another great reason to include the Costume Ball with your trip over?
Ask your son, sweet lady, I suspect he'll not only say it's appropriate, he'll ENCOURAGE you to go. I'll look for your update on Wednesday - if possible, early morning or afternoon, okay? I'm getting in my car and heading for Richmond later that afternoon - my son is coming over to house sit and kitty-kat sit, so I'm a free bird at 3:00.
Hugs - Lei
