Help!
Hi folks,
I need your help really, really bad... I have managed to gain anywhere between 15 to 20 pounds back since the spring and I am so unhappy with myself... My jeans are getting tight and so are other things I wear... Soooooo I need your suggestions on how I can get myself back in gear... I think my pouch has loosened up too much because of the eating I've been doing... Not sure if this is possible or not but it feels like I can eat more than I should be sometimes... There are still days when I can't eat much though so I know the pouch must still be intact and working somewhat...
Is there a way I can reset my body again????? I still need to lose about 80 more pounds to be where I'd like to be... But if I keep this up, I am going to regain more... And I definitely don't want that to happen... Please tell me what I can do and please don't say "go back to the basics" because I obviously need more details than that... Be specific with me about foods, liquids etc....
Thank you for any help you can provide to me... I gotta get back into some control again because this is miserable...
Chelle
Well you've already won part 1 of the battle: knowing what the problem is. You first have to recognize the foods that are on the no no list. When I have had an overeating week, I take a day of dropping back to creamies and protein shakes. That tiny tummy shrinks right back up. also, stick to the rule of 5. 5 tiny meals will keep you from getting hungry. Two of my five meals are 30 gram protein shakes. Even still - I drink them every single day. I make them with 1.5 scoops of protein, 1 scoop nondairy creamer and 16 ounces of water. [my favorite is the vanilla protein and the hazelnut nondairy creamer]. My food meals are small, but always protein first. and walk whenever possible. Park at the end of the parking lot instead of by the door. If the weather is good, park down the block instead of right in front. Walking is the silent calorie burner, but it works!
Read the pouch rules for dummies also..... they do help.
and last - don't beat up on yourself. Just jump back to the beginning, start over and you will be just fine!

This question just came up on the 18th for another poster, and she got some great advice. Check it out.
I'm doing a copy paste (with some changes) to your post since the person above you ask pretty much the same question.
Back to basics for me means I eat as my surgeon instructed after surgery, eat all your protein, followed by veggies, followed by fruit:
4 oz protein If not full at this point
1 cup Veggies If still not full
Fruit
It seems the basics still work no matter how far out from surgery we happen to be. We need to celebrate the fact that you're lost a lot of weight. If you want to keep the weight loss moving downward I'd suggest you analyze how many simple carbs have creeped back into your diet. That seems to be the key for me.
The further out from surgery we are the harder we have to work to keep the weight moving downward. The intestines absorb more calories each month out from surgery and the metabolism slows if we aren't exercising to keep it stable.
Best wishes for your continued success on your wls journey. This is a journey we will be on as long as we live. We take some detours along the way but as long as we get back on the right path we're fine.
Hugs
