revision sug,
I was just wondering if anyone long term(3 or 4 yr out) has had their surgen tell them they might have to have a revision surgury , because I was talkiing to mine and telling him about a one time severe acid reflux and just a few more not as serious, and had an upper gi done , and he looked at the film and said something about something may be happening....but i was at work and had to cut him off short and now cant remember why some have to have a revision. he did tell me what kind of labs i should be doing and if i have another upper gi to shedule one for him, but i dont want to have to travel all that way when i could probasbly have it done closer to save travel time. and has anyone had a colonospsy, where they do the lower scope after your 50 for checking to see if the colon is fine , polops, hemroidsa etc....if you did, did it show what your colon looked liked pretaining to your bypass?
Why thank you very much stranger yet sister from WLS......I', one of Jehovah Witessess and dont get out much to share encouragement to others like we do in the door to door minstry, so Its nice to get encouragement from strangers this way also. I guess there are other means to send brotherly love....so thank you very much for the HUG!!!
Only know about the colonoscopy.... They scope the lower part of your intestine, the colon. It does not go anywhere near the area that was bypassed. I made a big point of asking this when I had mine. I had a bleeding internal hemmorhoid. It was no big deal but it scared me. It was only a few months after my RNY & I just knew I was bleeding internally !
I used the Mag Citrate & an enema for the laxative before the proceedure to clean the bowel before the proceedure. It did the job very well. The doc wanted to use Fleet Phosphosoda but I could not keep it down more than a minute so it would not have done the job.It was not bad. Most people sleep though the whole thing. I didn't.
People who have not had WLS have to take a gallon of laxative. We just can take in that much. Make sure your doc knows that you are a WLS post op.
Good luck on all areas.
