a couple little wow for me today!!
1. Mom and I went to the health foods store today and the cute guy that works there was flirting with me! SOOOO not used to that!!
2. Ran into an old friend at Walmart and he didn't even recognize me. He recognized my mom and asked about me while i was standing right there. it was pretty funny actually. We exchanged email addy's and when i got home he'd already emailed me telling me how great i look! Made my day even better....
3. Got a message on myspace from my ex telling me how great i look now and how he wants to steal me from my hubby. ok...made me feel good BUT hello..I was like you're an ex for a reason!!
So all in all a pretty good day for steph!
OH YEAH...i've come to be ok with being a size 10 now...eventhough i made it to a 6 at my lowest weight my body so obviously enjoys 8/10. I was watching Oprah friday and she was saying how she needed a size 10 jeans...i figured if O can look good in a 10 then I can too!!
Wow Steph! You had a GREAT day! It is weird when you run into someone that hasn't seen you since b4 surgery~they don't quite know what to say, if its you, what to do~LOL! I think its a shock!
And, I have to agree~you look great! 6/8/10 doesn't even matter~you look wonderful and feel healthy and strong~that's all that really matters!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well i've pretty much come to the conconlusion that my body wants to weigh 155. i can get down to 151-152 then i bounce right back to 155 within days. it's weird but hey i figure if i can get this skin removed i'll be the goal weight i want to be. i'm still hoping to get approved for skin removal (i've been getting rashes and keeping pics of them) but with medicare you have the surgery first then they let you know if they'll cover it. no pre-auth! so i have to have backup funding just in case and i can't afford to pay back that big of a loan just yet.
thanks for the compliments...it means a lot coming from you because i wish i looked as good as you do! but all my weight is in the belly so that's makes it hard for me to see the thinner me. i know you understand that cuz you're heads not fully in the "thin tracy mode" yet.
thanks again...you're the best!!
Well, no pre~auth stinks! LOL! How is anyone supposed to go for it with that hanging over their head?? I certainly couldn't pay out of pocket! Especially if you're getting rashes~urgh, insurance is irritating! I wonder what I would weigh with skin removal? Not that I'm considering it b/c I'm afraid, but I do truly wonder about that. I could have a tummy tuck and my upper thighs are still pretty big so I guess Lipo?? Well, just enjoy the compliments! I think you look great and your pic with dh is too cute!
Hugs,
Tracy
The clothing size and the specific number on a scale do not "make a woman" and make her happy, healthy, sexy, attractive, etc. Plus clothing sizes are funky and have changed over the years and there are no standards.
Sure, the fact that you aren't in any of the morbidly obese categories makes you healthier. But the specific number on the tag of clothing isn't important. You look great. People tell you that. People flirt with you. Honey, they ain't lying!
Congrats on your day of "male attention" wows! Heck, even the ex counts. LOL!
I remember when I saw mine he said "Guess that surgery works, eh?" Duh.
Kathy
Yeah i guess you're right about the clothing sizes but it's hard not to get wrapped up in the numbers. my hubby is probably going nuts about it too...i'm sure he's tired of hearing it. and i do get a lot of positive attention from hubby now too but it's always an ego boost to have someone else pay attention to you also. now if we can get the liver problem under control i'll be doing good. i told my mom and hubby yesterday if this doctor doesn't have any answers for me since he's the supposed liver expert then i'm just going back to my regular gastro.
aren't men and they're choice of words wonderful? duh...yeah the surgery works!! what a goof.
thanks for replying....you're to sweet to me!!
"I remember when I saw mine he said "Guess that surgery works, eh?" Duh."
*laugh* I remember a post from a one woman who was visiting a new post-op in the hospital, and someone else there inquired about what she'd had done. The woman who was visiting explained that she'd had the same surgery about a year before, and what WLS was. The inquirer said "I heard that doesn't work", and the inquirer's own mother looked the OH poster up and down and said "Looked like it worked for HER".

I was in a speech class and did a presentaiton on gastric bypass, with out telling the group I had it. One very obese young woman made several comments that were wildly inaccurate, about it and gave me a copy of a diet she had, ( I am sure I looked like I needed it - at that time a size 12, just a couple months pre TT) and she was telling everybody that this diet is so great - supposedly based on the glycemic index, but encourage white potatoes as a good low glycemic choice- and how gastric bypass doesn't work and they all gain all the weight back.
My teacher had suggested I not mention that I had the surgery, as it was supposed to be an informative speech and that personal feellings, etc, could decrease credibility making an objective presentation.
I still wish I had pulled my size 28 jeans out of my backpack to show had badly the gastric bypass worked for me.
