I have posted on the main messageboard and been directed here so I am hoping someone here can help me out. I had my surgery April 1st, 2004 and have had no problems until recently.
Over the last couple of weeks I suddenly have no appetite and have had periodic dizziness, nausea and diareha. I thought at first it was a flu bug but now I am not so sure because this is very sporadic and comes on very suddenly.
The thing I should tell you all is that I have not been following the pouch rules as I should have the last 6 months or so. I can come up with all kinds of excuses but I won't because that is not why I am writing this note here.
I do have a doctor's appointment scheduled but unfortunately not until next week in the meantime I am very worried.
Can anybody help me understand if my problems could be because I have not been diligent????
Desperate for answers!
Hi Lois. Not sure if I can be of any hel*****t. So, you say you haven't followed pouch rules~do you mean that you have not been getting the proper amount of protein? drinking during meals? not taking your vitamins? no exercise? have you had your labwork done on a regular basis? I guess I need some specifics before I can give you a thought out answer. I will check back later b/c I'd like to help if possible. I know your dr appt isn't until next week, but I'd be interested in what they tell you, so please post an update when you can! I hope you feel better soon!

Hi Tracy,
Thanks for the response I sure appreciate it.
Not following the rules would mean not taking vitamins or following up on blood work. I have maintained my weight though and do exercise. I know there is no excuse for not taking the vitamins and all I can say it I am an idiot. Believe me that is going to change because a this moment I am scared and realize now that regardless of what is wrong with me I should never forget the rules of the pouch.
Lois
Hi again Lois! First off, you're not an idiot. We all lead very busy lives and sometimes we forget to put ourselves first. I'm sure this is very scary, but hopefully everything will turn out fine and this will just end up being your reminder that you need to take your vitamins, calcium, b12 (if necessary) and do your bloodwork. There were a few posts down below yours that specifically asked "what happens if you don't take your vitamins" and there were some great responses from people that certainly know more about that than I do~here's a link to one of them and if you page down one, to Kathy's response, it has alot of info~ http://obesityhelp.com/forums/wls_grads/postdetail/25548.html?vc=0
Good Luck and please keep us posted on what the dr says.
