WOW

I am not a big WOW moment poster but today was an exceptional day for me. It began and ended before the sun came up this morning. I am a 6-7 day a week exerciser. I have been battling my sweet tooth and the carb monster and winning, for 7 days I have been "real" sugar and bad carb free. Two weeks ago I added an outside exercise to my collection as a boredom relief attempt. I'd wake early, go and come back for a shower before work between 6pm-730. Ever seen the Cooper River Bridge in Charleston S.C? The new one completed in 2006 is officially named the Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge and they tore down the Grace and Pearman bridges that were its' predecessors. According to Wikipedia.com - The span of the bridge is officially known as the longest cable strung bridge, in not only the United States but in the Northern Hemisphere. It has an awesome run/walk and bike riding section that goes about 6 miles round trip if you take it down to east Bay street.. I had been doing this gradually, walking and running to complete my best so far at 70 minutes round trip. This morning at 0600 am I went with a friend from my gym who gave me just enough motivation and push without making me wanna give up and roll down LOL. I finished in 45 minutes! Don't think in terms of a tread mill. The incline and decline, the holy crap cold wind that high up and the hard pavement are things this former fat chic would never have venutred to do in the past. The first time I got to the other side I looked up and thought "I'm hailing a cab home!", then I remembered I didn't have any cash on me. Do a Google search for the Cooper River Bridge and the Annual Cooper River Bridge Run - there are some awesome pictures out there. I should get a picture of me up there! Have a Great Weekend. M

70 miles...That is definitely a WOW in my book. I have only been able to do 2.5 on treadmill....I have to figure out a way to get further with it.....I do that in 30 minutes. And you are doing all of that in 45 minutes! WOW. Its awesome how we have all changed and for the better. Keep up the good work Michelle. You are worth it! Debbie
