Hard to describe
Since about a month after my surgery I have had this aching pain in my butt or maybe tailbone area when I sit too long. I thought it was from sitting around too much after my surgery and maybe I bruised something back there, but it won't go away and I am now 16 months post op. Anyone else experience this? I haven't been on the messageboards alot lately but I haven't read anything about this. All opinions appreciated.

Good morning Natalie - alot of us have exactly what you are describing!!!! We've lost all of our padding back there! We now have 'boney' butts! LOL
I went to my PCP because my pain was so bad back there when I sat - he took xrays and discovered I actually had broken my tailbone at some point in my life, because it was curved in the opposite direction than normal tailbones. It had never bothered me before because it was cushioned by the layers of fat, but now that I have no butt and no padding, the tailbone is closer to the skin surface and provides the pain. There really isnt anything that my PCP can do for this, aside from surgery, which is something that Im not going to consider. So, I've just learned to sit cautiously and not for long periods of time.
Have a fun weekend! deb
