Thanks everyone for your reply. I think I will go back to my surgeon and see what they think about this. I was told to take this the rest of my life. The doctor I seen knew I had this surgery. The amount I take is 2500 mcg. Diane

Mine is high too - my doctor suggested taking it every other day but I kept forgetting which day I took it so I take it on weekdays and skip weekends. My levels were in the 1500 range after my 2 year check up and after the 3rd and 4th years I'm up to 2800 - 3000. My doc says I could quit taking it altogether but would rather see me continue a low dose than quit taking completely. That way if the numbers drop and I have to go back to daily B-12 I will still be in the habit of taking them. I have been on the sublingual B-12 for over 5 years now. I don't think too high of a B-12 level is a bad thing but it's cheaper to take less of my sublinguals. Maybe you could go 6 weeks between shots instead of 4 to get levels back down a bit. If you're on a monthly B-12 shot.

Hello Ladies, I was just wondering if the B-12 pill your taking or MCG or MG after the number. I take the B-12 sublingual pills from Bariatric Advantage and I noticed they are 1000 mcg not mg. I take one every day. Is this Enough???

B12 measurement is in mcg. Whether you are taking enough is determined by your labs. Some of us have to take more than others. I had to change the form of B12 to get my numbers up. I now take methylcobalamin form rather than cyanocobalamin (the more common form) and have numbers at 1700+ finally. I am taking 1,000 - 2,000 mcg daily. The methyl form is more readily absorbed by the body. Sandy
