Good evening to all ~
I had my surgery 2 years ago last Sunday, and pretty much forgot about it...until I received an e-mail from Obesity Help wishing me a happy anniversary/surgiversary/or whatever. It was refreshing to say the least, and reminded me of my anniversary, even though it was after-the-fact. I rarely get the chance to visit this site and thought I would finally do it this evening.
In retrospect, I feel like I've come full circle over these last 2 years. I've learned to eat only until I'm full; always start with protein and ensure I get enough protein; drink my fluids; take my vitamins; and exercise whenever possible. Now, don't get me wrong - - - I am Not perfect. But, I've hit a "groove" and am stable with my weight and have been for over the last year. I have noticed, however, that my body has "reshaped" itself over this last year as well. I feel like a butterfly that has come out of its ****oon...yeah, I feel darned good.
So, thank you all for sharing your trials and tribulations, and WISDOM with me, especially early on. While I could have made it through without all of this, I'm sure, having this site and the people here to share with and read about has truly educated me beyond any meetings I could have attended. This is a terrific site and I tell anyone who asks me about the surgery about this site and highly recommend it.
Wishing you all the best...
Jules
