28 months post-op and I need to get back to basics

Hi everyone! I'm hoping someone can offer some advice and suggestions for my problem. My good friend and I had WLS in May of 2004. We've been within 5 pounds of each other at all times. Unfortunately this still holds true. We both GAINED about 10 pounds in the last 2 months! Before it gets more out of control we want to lose the weight and start working on reaching our goal weight. (neither of us have reached it yet) I recently joined weigh****chers but I'm still gaining and honestly I'm not following it as well as I should. I'm actually thinking of quitting since its expensive and I'm just wasting money right now. I'm doing the points program which isn't difficult but I'm always hungry and I haven't had the will power to not eat something. the points rack up FAST!!! I thought I'd check with you guys to see what works for you guys when you start to gain or just need to jump start the weight loss. How many calories should we stick to a day? How many carbs? protein? etc... I feel like we need to get back to the basics but neither of us remember what that is. How scarey is that?!?! Your advice and suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks, Jessica 301/175/135

Basics per my surgeon: Eat 4 oz protein, if still hungry Eat low carb veggies, if still hungry Eat a piece of fruit At 32 months I understand your frustration. I regained 12 lbs on a 15 day vacation then spent 2-3 months dropping it again. It's a lot easier to gain than to get it off again. I have to give up the carbs to lose weight, but that's isn't true for everybody. Once I stay away from carbs for 2-3 days the constant hunger goes away and I feel in control again. Best of luck!
