I Wanted to Share This~Please Look
A friend that also had wls shared this with me and I wanted to pass it along to all of you. With so many of us going thru struggles right now, I thought these words were very powerful~
I AM NOT A NUMBER!
I am not a number...
a total cholesterol count,
an LDL, an HDL,
a TAG, or a fasting glucose.
I am not a number.
I am a living, breathing body
with a changing mind, and a beating heart.
I am not a number.
I am not just to be measured, standardized or compared with a chart.
I am a listener, a talker, a dreamer, a believer, a lover and a friend.
I am not a number.
I am not to be weighed for approval.
I am a person who raises her face to the sun,
Opens her arms to a child,
Laughs too loud,
And doesn't cry soft.
I am not a number.
I am not to be judged by anyone,
least of all by myself.
Because I must believe that I am more than a number, capable of more than just the average, reaching possibilities above the norm.
I am not a number.
I will say today, and tomorrow, and each day thereof - that it is okay to see my weight, and not feel defined by it.
I can allow acceptance of myself, and free my perspective to see me as my best me.
My weight is not me, because I am not a number.
