Hi all, Too many great messages to answer them all regarding my previous post on low blood sugar... alot of great info. Thanks to all, read the thread for great information. Went to my surgeon, and this is common for WLP. I need to leave the bad carbs alone is all... MLR

hi MLR ... sorry I didn't respond to your first post (or did I? ) a couple weeks ago I had a grand mal seizure, and the rescue squad measured my blood glucose level at 23, which I guess is pretty low. I went through a glucose tolerance test yesterday (which, after I called my doc telling him how much pain I had been in, told me I shouldn't have been given the glucose challenge ... not fun. Not fun at all. I'm anxiously awaiting the results, it is believed that low blood sugar may have been the cause of another "episode" two months back, when paramedics were called (but they didn't check my blood glucose levels). Gee Karen, I hope they find out what is going on with you, some of the answers in my previous post and then info from my surgeon was/is that WLP tend to have low blood sugar and need to stick with the higher protein lower carb diet... Limit white items such as bread, rice, sugar and so forth. Let us know how you make out this could be important for others on here. Best wishes to you. MaryLyn

Thanks MaryLyn ... i think one of my probs is I haven't been doing much along the lines of carbs at all (I've been a bit restrictive with my eating, but I'm working on it) ... so I am very anxious to get my OGTT tests (hopefully the doc will have them tomorrow). Karyn
