Has the pouch or stoma stretched?

How do you tell if either has stretched? I'm 14 months out, and can definitely eat more than before. Which from what I've read is normal...but how do you tell if you can eat TOO much? I try to eat the correct amount of protein at each meal, but find myself hungry about 2 hours after eating. I eat about 4 oz of protein at each meal and about 1/4 - 1/2 cup non-starchy vegetables.

I'm 16 months post-op and can eat 3-4 oz of dense protein and 1/2 cup of non-starchy veges at one sitting. I'm hungry again in 2-3 hours, as well. But I eat every 3-4 hours either a protein shake or a meal. Kathy

I think you are pretty normal. At some point I just decided to split my daily calories into 5-6 small meals so I could satisfy that craving to eat between meals. I normally choose snacks that have nutritional value without a lot of calories, but sometimes just want something like a sugar free popcicle. My usual snacks are one of the following: 12 almonds, small apple, pear, peach, sugar free popcicles, etc. Eating several meals a day helps with the low blood sugar problem so many ofus have too. At 32 months I average around 1,000 calories a day, but some people can eat more without regaining. Our bodies are different so we have to figure out what works for us. Best of luck for your continued success!
