Stomach Charlie Horses
Anyone experiencing these? They seem to happen to me when I have something tight around stomach (seat belt is one of those things), when I have my knees up to close to my stomach, and if I am doing stomach crunches with weights. It lasts for a few minutes and goes away....Doctor says its stomach muscles that are not up to par and feels it will take a year before they are rehabilated.....I don't get that explanation and tried to pursue an answer and didn't get one that I liked. So here I am asking you if you had Charlie Horses in your stomach. I know when they appear in the legs it is from lacking some vitamins.....But what about stomach area? All my labs have been great. Who can I go to get a second opinion on this....other than the PCP and surgeon???

Have you ever had them checked out? My concern is a lot of people in my support area have been having problems with kinked intestines and the Dr had to open them again to fix that problem. I wonder if this is how this problem starts? I haven't asked this question of them yet.....Thursday is another support group for me so maybe I will toss it out there to get some feedback.

Hey Debbie,
YES, I get these very often. Everytime I raise from a laying position, using only stomach muscles, everytime I strain to have a BM, when doing crunces, even when pulling my legs into indian style in my chair. They are getting more and more frequent and its worrying me that it might not be a muscle, but intestinal kink of some sort. Gonna check it out with the pcp next month on my visit. Mine is on the left side of the center of my stomach, and when its knots up, feels like it is about a foot in length. I can actually see the bulge of it.

Hi Debbie,
I never post on this board because I am not a Grad, I do lurk because he guys have a lot of great info for us newbie's. I soak up what I can quietly. But I had to respond, because I had this problem for about 2 years even before sugery. It would happen down at the bottom of my stomach and last for a few seconds to a few minutes. The day after sugery, my surgeon came in to check on me and said, "Do you know that you have a belly button hernia?" Apparently that is what has been causing that sensation. Something to think about.

My Gynecologist is the one who helped me and even did my surgery
My surgeon is one of my best friends..and he knew it was adhesions..I had had gallbladdr surgery years and years ago..and I had endo..so it was a no brainer..it should never be dismissed as exercise pain..any type of twisting or cramping pain should be checked out..if it's nothing..great..but if it IS something..the earlier its caught and can be resolved the better..no need to suffer
