I seem to have forgotten my pouch is a tool. I have gotten out of control. Do you think my pouch is still in tack. I am able to eat all kinds of junck food and I crave them all the time. Waking up thinking about whats for lunch is not good. I want to fit back in my little black dress. I felt really good at 139 lbs. Is it too late for me?

I think (and I am not a Dr.) that your pouch is fine. You just need to get head back into the groove of things. Go back to what you know is right. Proteins first, lot's of water, vites, exercise, and I bet the 16lbs drops back off. It will probably take a week or so to adjust as your body is used to "crap" and it will crave it, but drink as much water as possible, hang in through the "detox" and work on the "mind" and you will be fine, it may help you to plan out your food the day before and that way your mind won't be worring about lunch~it will already know what "it's" having. Just my thoughts and I hope you do great! Huggs, Sharon Fell free to email me anytime if you just need someone to talk to or be accountable too.

Time to regain control. Detox your body of the carbs, the first 2-3 days will be tough but hang in there. Go back to your early post-op days, choose dense protein as your first food choice, then low glycemic vegetables. Be sure to drink lots of water, take your vitamins and exercise. Getting your mind back in the ball game may be challenging but YOU CAN DO IT. Think positively and believe in yourself. Read the pouch rules for dummies, not drinking with your meals or 30 minutes before or after. Steph post everyday on what we've eatin, it's an accountability need for me. I'm definitely not the "perfect" post-op, I fall off the wagon sometimes, but I forgive myself and start over. Remember it's a lifestyle change we have to work everyday to make good choices. Best wishes, Dana

I'm with Sharon, Dana and Tracy. Return to the basics... dense proteins first and then non-starchy vegies, cut out the white carbs, no drinking with meals, drink lots and lots of water, take your vitatmins and exercise. It is never too late to try to get the weight off. Kathy

Junk food begets junk food Really..the more of it you eat, the more you want. This has to do with how sugar and carbs (the majority of most junk food) are used and processed by the body. Don't forget your water either. The body gets 1/5th of its daily water needs from food, so if you don't drink enough, your body will send hunger signals to try to get more of what it needs. Your brain sees no difference between hunger signals from thirst, versus legit hunger signals.
