Ok... I had gastric bypass when I was 19 years old (in 2002). I lost all the weight and had all the skin removed. But my legs never really got smaller. My calves are huge. Seriously, my face looked like a skelliton at one point ~ I looked sick. But the fat in my legs won't budge. I have to buy much larger wide leg pants and have the waste taken in just so that they fit my legs. It's so hard to find pants. Is this a medical condition or am I just out of luck? It's driving me crazy! I think it's so bad that I'm not getting proper circulation. I recently noticed that my feet are often blue or purple.
Any advise? Is this dangerous?
Thanks,
Sarah
Do some reading on Lymphadema. A good place to start is Amy William's website and if you email her, she'll gladly discuss this with you - it's her passion.

Best of luck!

I agree with Tooter's suggestion. Also Sarah Margaret http://obesityhelp.com/morbidobesity/members/profile.php?N=B1043782468 also has information on her profile, I believe. I have somewhat similar symptoms with my legs and I have been wondering if I don't have something both Amy and Sarah also have--lipodema--or something similar.

Depends,
Is it fat or is it Muscle?
My calves are huge. BUT they are SOLID Muscle, i attribute it to carrying the weight all those years and working out and running. The only way they will get smaller inmy case,,, would be to stay off them, and malnourish myself to lose muscle tone. And that is JUST NOT an option.
My thighs are solid also, Except my inner thigh skin. But other than that, between my legs being big, me being short and my stomache skin.. finding clothes is an olympic event in which i could take the gold!
Good Luck!
