I am feeling a little like a failure my weight has been stable for about 2 month, I have been working out with weights and was expecting to lose more weight at a year out...Everyone says I look great I've lost 94-99lbs depending on my or Doc's scale...I want to lose another 20-30 lbs but I weigh about 183lbs and i wear a size 10 or 8 doesn't make sense... I look like i weigh about 150lbs but i don't ..........I just want to be clearly past 200 lbs ....I work out 3x a week I am going to bump up my cardio I was doing weights and sculpting.........any advice I feel like I did not use my time wisely......I may just be tripping but I do have a plan.........any suggestions or input?

Hi Candy, First of all congratulations on losing the 94-99lbs how awesome! Take a deep breath and think, could you have done this on your own? You have lost a very good amount of weight in one year and you should be proud! Then you have have to be honest with yourself, are you working out and pushing yourself, are you eating protein first, getting in all your water, vites, and exercise? If the answer is yes to all those then you are doing the very best you can, if not then set some short term goals and GO FOR IT! I would highly suggest you joining our nightly accountability group if you haven't, it has helped us all out alot to "fess" up at the end of our day on our eating and exercising. Don't be so hard on yourself, Sharon

. My best advice? STOP focusing on a NUMBER and start focusing on how you FEEL. If you feel "healthy/happy/content/pretty/etc" at 183 pounds why obssess over 150? Also, factor in the fact that you probably have additional skin (that adds a few pounds) and that you have the bones of someone who's been carrying extra weight around for "x" amount of years, causing them to be denser, which in turn means they also add a few pounds to your overall "body" weight - and who knows, maybe in a SKELETAL sorta way, your body "IS" as 150 pounds, or much closer then you think. When I do my BMI? I immediately SUBTRACT 7.5 pounds from my "scales" weight. My doc told me to allow 5 pounds for every 100 pounds I lost (as a ball park) for excess skin and density of bones. Since Ive had "some" plastics (still need a thigh and butt lift, but prolly WON'T do it) ....but since Ive had some plastics and lost 230 lbs, I decided to ratchet down his 5 lbs per 100 lost and came up with a "middle" kinda number, not quite as high. Anyway - back to the original advice, go with how you FEEL, not numbers on a scale. - Enjoy your new health and weight loss success!!

Candy, Congratulations on your success! It sounds like you've done very well to me! You said you added some weight training recently~that could be why you're not losing ##"s on the scale as muscle weighs more than fat. That's a good thing though b/c having more muscle allows your body to burn more calories during the day and it certainly helps you to look more fit and tone! I agree that you should try not to obsess on what the scale says and go by how you feel, how your clothes fit, etc~although I know that's very hard to do b/c I'm have a number obsession too. Just keep doing all of the good things that you're doing~at a year out my weightloss slowed way down too, but I did continue to lose until I hit my goal~You WILL make it there too!
