Question
I know everyone is different, but I am at 4 months post op and Have lost about 75 lbs. I am not sure what is good or bad. What is the average weight loss at 4 months? Am I pretty much on schedule? I was walking daily about 45 minutes. But now I am remodeling a Kitchen, and I have been putting wood floors down in 3 rooms of my house, tearing up sub-floor and putting in new ones and doing drywall. Yes I have been working with power tools. I think that is enough exercise for a day, or is it? Once the projects are complete, I will start to work out on the new Total Gym my husband is getting us, and resume my walking. What is the norm?
Pat,
I guess my response to you would be is it working for you? We are all so different in all levels of life. Its hard to say what is normal for all. If you feel good and feel that you have done the best you can do than that is norm for you! If you feel you could do more than by all means put more into the program. You are early out and this is the time where the losses are the highest. Do what you can to make the tool work the best for you. I congradulate you on the 75 lb loss. That is fantastic! I am sure you read this before but I will repeat it again....don't compare yourself to others. It will only frustrate you and you are on the path of really doing well. Don't get side tracked!

Everyone's body is different. Some lose faster than others, some lose slower. A lot of it depends on how much you have to lose, too. A friend of mine lost nearly 100 pounds in the first 3 months, I lost about 55. She had about 300 pounds to lose, I had about 160. There is no "one size fits all" when it comes to losing unfortunately. If you're doing what you're supposed to do, then your weight will come off the way it's supposed to. Keep using your tools and don't get frustrated with stalls - we all have them at different points and some feel like they'll never end. But they do, eventually!!
