help!!!gaining wt
Bev:
I feel your pain!! I am 2 1/2 yrs out and I have gained 10-12 lbs back too!! I don't dump and very little bothers me either! Go back to your early post op days. Up the protein, water, and exercise as much as you can!! Avoid simple carbs, and only eat the complex whole grain varieties sparingly. you know the drill, solid protein first, then a small portion of fruits, vegies, complex carbs. It's so much easier said then done, i know!! Allow occasional "treats" so you don't lose it and binge!! Think before you eat, ask yourself, "is it real hunger?" I am keeping plenty of sf popsicles around. whenever I "think" I need to snack, I eat one. They are very lowcal, and although they're not a snickers, they fill the void!! Also, you can drink a protein shake if you're truly hungry!! Best of luck, hang in there!!! DeeAnn R
Deeann said it all in her post. I'm sure it was nothing new and you knew that would be the answer.
Personally every time I start letting too many carbs back into my diet I see the scale begin to climb. When I cut back on the carbs the constant hunger goes away, the scale drops. It's all about carbs for me.
Best wishes for your continued success. Yes you are a success, the weight gain is only a temporary setback. Your post says it all, you ready to reverse the weight gain. The surgery didn't change our brains so we are going to falter at times, but we get up and start anew with our pouch in tact.
Have a great day!
