Goals for today?
I came to the conclusion this morning that I am going to have to take one day at time. I am the type to set long unattanable goals, so tell me what your goals for today are.
Mine are:
1. Eat no "bad" carbs (carbs are the devil)
2. Get back to basics-eat protein first, no drinking with meals, drink lot's of water, no snacking between meals
3. Exercise no matter what! Yesterday my son was home with a viris and today my daughter is BUT I will fit in exercise one way or another
So tell me your short term goals, it really helps to see what others are doing!
Have a wonderful day!!!

My son started back to school a couple of weeks ago and I try to go straight to the YMCA and get on the treadmill each morning. My best friend usually joins me and we walk at a brisk pace for 45 minutes. It is the best way for me to start my day. I have been anemic since May and I do not push myself too hard, but go for the duration.
I was seen by a hematologist last week who ordered a unit of IV iron. I feel better this week than I have all summer. He told me that sometimes taking large doses of oral forms of iron can be irritating and actually lead to bleeding which creates further anemia. My stomach has stopped hurting. I will go back next month and see how my labwork is. Hopefully, I will maintain my iron levels and be able to take a gentle oral form. I've dropped 4 pounds in one week. This is the first weight loss in many months. I think the increased energy will help me burn faster.
Daily Goals:
1. YMCA - treadmill x 45 min.
2. Drinking EAS protein drink with extra scoop of protein powder each day.
3. Doing something fun each day for myself - working in my yard, writing a card, putting together a picture album, calling a friend, playing a game.
4. Avoiding processed carbs.
5. Water before meals, no water with or immediately after meals.
6. Check the board daily for new ideas and suggestions.
Thanks everyone for your support!

I like #3, as women we somtimes forget to do nice things for ourselves-thanks for the reminder....
You are doing great, 4lbs in one week? I'm jelous!
I just had my blood work done last week and am waiting on results, I always worry about the iron, I have been low all my life. Sounds like you are getting yours under control, good for you...
