someone kick my a$$ back into gear.....PLEASE!!
Hey sweetie, take a deep breathe and refocus girl. Yes those carbs are aweful, I was really struggling with them about a month or two ago. I was fortunate to catch myself early enough to not gain, it sure scared the hell out of me though.
I say decarb NOW, go back to basics as you were early post-op....protein first always. No eating between meals and get on back on fitday. I've slacked there too but do every once in a while go put in a couple of days worth of food to check myself. Some days are good, others yikes.
I've been doing well this weekend and today. I got a bug last week though and was sicker than a dog....now food taste disgusting and I can hardly eat anything. Seems like being sick and unable to eat reset my pouch or something (not sure). I lost 6 lbs in 3 days due to the illness and really don't want to lose anymore weight.
You've come along way girl. You and I have followed each others journey and were there to celebrate the wow moments and talk when we struggled. I'm still only an email away, give me a shout if you need anything. Remember you are strong and YOU WILL bet those carbs....mind over matter.
Hugs,
Dana

hey there miss dana! thanks for the reply...i know i can do it but support is always good. sometimes it helps to just get it out in the open and not trying to hide or sneak around. i'm working on getting back on track i'm just thankful that i never quit my exercise routine. that's not changed at all! good thing!! i remember when i was in the hospital for a few days in may and lost a lot of weight in those days and food was just yucky for awhile. it'll pass though...you'll be back to normal soon.
I can't possibly kick your a$$ because I know exactly how you feel. I've been on a kick of wanting to eat like normal people. Well my idea of normal is to add some simple carbs back to my diet. Unfortunately I can watch the scale climb daily when I add back the carbs.
After eating normal and gaining 12 pounds I'm back to basics but I keep sliding off the basics back to carb he**. The scale is moving downwards slowly but I don't understand why my brain won't get it that carbs are not my friend.
Best of luck to you in getting back on track. Obviously you are not alone.
thanks for replying to my post...i'm so glad to know i'm not the only one. i always know there are others out there struggling like i am but it's good to hear it first hand. i know we can't all be perfect but we can surely try! i'm glad you're working on your carb problem too!! good luck to you as well...
I can totally sympathize with your post. I too have allowed carbs back into my life and it's so hard to get away from them. The more carbs I eat...the more I want. It is scary falling back into old habits. I have gained back about 12 lbs. since January and I desperately need to get them off. It's not necessarily the weight that bothers me. It's the losing of control that got me obese in the first place that is the scary part. I know that we can do this and I would love to support everyone here that shares in my struggles. What ideas are you all implementing today to help get rid of the evil carbs??

well i think we've all eliminated the carbs from the house today...i know a lot of us have anyway. i went out today and bought better stuff to replace the bad carbs. cottage cheese, tuna, yogurt, cheese, etc. i did get some low carb tortillas for when i want pizza but i will only do that on occasion. email me if you'd like to do our daily email check in'[email protected]
Well let me jump on this band wagon!!! I hate to admit this but I started the carb "sneak" too early after my surgery and it cost me 6 months of "prime" loosing time. You know, those easy months when weight just falls off. The one good thing that happen was I didn't gain any weight.......but what a price to pay.
Anywho, I'm terrified of gaining weight back, and I still have 30-50 pounds left to lose. Please keep me in the loop, I need the support too.
Wendy
I believe this is the best thread yet! This is exactly what I need. Someone here said decarbing takes 3 days - I almost made it 2 full days. I broke down today with some dried fruit/nuts trail mix. Don't know why - stress eating I guess. Not much though only about 1 cup this time. Best part is I've made it 2 full days without pretzels. I would rather eat pretzles than anything else. Very wierd.
Count me in too!
