Has anyone been through a pregnancy since surgery?

I am 2 and a half years out from my first surgery and I have had an around the world tummy tuck along with a breast reduction and lift. I now find out to my surprise that I am 10 weeks pregnant. Has anyone been through this or do you know someone that has gone through a pregnancy after their surgery?

You probably want to go on the pregnancy forum, lots of pregnancies and baby stories there. http://www.obesityhelp.com/forums/postop_pregnancy/ There is also a Yahoogroup. Think it is ossg-pregnancy. We had someone on our May 2005 surgery forum who found out she was pregnant at the time she had WLS. Yup! She must have just conceived and then had surgery. She ended up having a healthy baby. I recently read of one woman who was maybe a year post-op who could only intake 1000 cals a day and had some issues. The baby was taking all of the calories and her organs starting having issues due to malnutrition so it is important that you get the calories in that your body needs in addition to what the baby needs. (The woman had a TPN line (line into the stomach/intestines) so they could feed her extra nutrition in addition to what she could physically eat. Sounded like she and the baby were excellent.) Work closely with your doctor and a nutritionist and all should be fine. Congratulations and best wishes! Kathy
