WHO ISN'T HUNGRY?

It's simple to stop the weight loss, just eat by the clock. My surgeon says 3 meals & 1 snack. He says it doesn't matter if you're hungry, you need food to keep your body healthy. He has a good point, I had the surgery to regain my health. I'd hate to have something happen that can't be fixed because I'm too lazy to eat properly. Many people do have eating disorders after wls. It seems the over eating and under eating come from the same place in our brain. You can change this if you want to. I think you know there is a problem otherwise you would not have posted. Many people say they aren't hungry after wls so you are not unique. The thing that seperates the healthy from the unhealthy is the decision to eat properly. Hugs and best wishes to you.

I think you are wise to see at therapist if for no other reason than to rule out an eating disorder and help you come to terms with the huge changes yo have been thru in the past year. I personally underestimated how all this would affect me and went into a bad state last summer and had to seek therapy. I am so glad I did and one of my few regrets related to surgery is that I did not see a therapist sooner. I have to say I only wish I didnt get hungry. I eat 6 meals a day to be sure to nourish myself properly and if I miss one I get l as hungry as a starving wolf. Then I make really bad choices. I am glad I developed a schedule for myself during the time I did not experience hunger so I have a tool to use now to control my hunger. That doesnt mean I am still always making hte best choices, but it helps to be more moderate in my bad choices. My plan is all about balance and health.

thanks for your reply. i see my pcp in 8 hours (geesh, i need to get some sleep!) and will talk to him about it and see what he thinks. maybe it is not too late for me to get myself on some sort of schedule. hunger can return at any time i'm sure! i am glad to hear that therapy helped. i keep wondering how it will help me get out of this state of mind, but i guess that is why they are trained in their fields! wish me luck, i'm going to catch some zzz's so i don't oversleep and miss my appt! LOL hugssssssss
