This is an update to my post about related/unrelated symptoms. I saw my PCP today and talked to him about my various symptoms and have done some more research. He ordered a B12 screen as well as a fasting blood sugar and an insulin resistance test... There's potentially two things going on here: FSAD, foot neuropathy (numbness, drop foot), intermittent numbness in my hands, etc. could all be associated with a B12 deficiency. FSAD, neuropathy and hypoglycemia (could be reactive, could be general, not sure yet, still experimenting) and screwed up menstrual cycle could be PCOS, insulin resistance or Type II Diabetes.... Before WLS, I was showing signs of elevated sugars and have struggled since surgery, over the past few months, with bouts of LOW blood sugar.... However, the symptoms, etc. fit, it's just a matter of getting the lab results... Has anyone developed PCOS, diabetes, etc. AFTER WLS?

I had diabetes before my WLS and was on 2 different meds. I stopped taking them the day of my surgery and then exactly 2 yrs after am back one of them again and my blood sugar is still going up. I know people believe that diabetes will be forever gone after the weight loss, but this is definitely not true. Anyway hope you find out what's going on. Janie
