a great time was had by all!
Well--tonight Joann, Charlie and I met in Boston. It was a first time meeting for Charlie and Joann. I am always amazed how when some of us meet eachother it seems as if we have known eachother forever- never a dull moment in the conversation.. Joann toured us through her old neighborhood--Boston's North End. It was fun to see it from a natives perspective. We got to enjoy the 'feast of the madonna' (at least that was what I think it was). Those two dancing divas had a blast! We took lots of pictures and we promise to post them soon. Looking forward to getting together with others on Wednesday.
I gotta chime in. I had a ball. I finally got to meet Joann...and she is exactly as I thought she would be. What a good time. I was enchanted. I was in another world in another time. First we had dinner at Joe's at Bastan Haba...that would be Boston Harbor for the rest of us! We shared a meal and we all ate way too much bread...and it was extreeeemly good.
Then Joann took us to the North End...to the Italian district. We attended the 'feast' as Joann called it...then she took us to her old school in her old neighborhood. We heard about the nuns and she talked about running errands for the family on Saturdays as a kid. She went to the butcher and the bakery and the fruit vendor....I was mesmerized.
And of course we had to stop in a pastry shop. Italians are known for the wonderful pastries and desserts......oooo la la. NOT that we had anything....well....much!
I go home on Tuesday....and I'll post all the pictures I took...along with some Joann took....
Talk to you again soon....

Jane--Joann informs us that Mike's is a tourist trap and the preferred bakery is Modern. Of course next time I am there I will get that all confused again and probably end up at Mikes. Don't worry about missing out on anything--we took every opportunity to talk 'about' you behind your back. That is one reason why everyone should make a point of being 'there' cause you may become the topic of discussion if you are 'here not there'. Good luck with the audit.
