hello everybody, wendy here. haven't posted in a while, but i am needing some advice/help. i am 2 years post op. i weighed 320 the morning of my surgery and to date i weigh 150 i really have to focus now on my weigh, kind-of like a diet. i am trying to lose another 20 pounds before i have my plastics done. here is my question....what should our diets 2 years post op consist of. i still focus on my protein, water and excercise. what i need to know is around about calories, fats, carbs...stuff like that. my diet for the last 2 weeks has consisted of yogurt, bananas, cauntalope, rice cakes and lots of boiled eggs and i have been content with that. i want to start writing down my intake and hopefully you guys can give me the info i need or direct me where i can find out. thanks ahead of time. wendy

Wendy, I am about 2 years post-op and I consume about 1500 calories per day, on average. I aim for 80-100 grams of protein. I do one protein shake per day, mostly because I don't like to eat breakfast. It contains about 29 grams of protein. The rest I get from food - lean meats and cheese. A typical day goes something like this: Pre-B: Coffee (2-3 12 oz cups) with Splenda & fat-free half and half (4-8g protein) B: Protein shake with 8 oz Carb Countdown Milk, Body Fortress Whey Protein & 4 oz frozen banana (30g protein) L: 2 LF cheese sticks & 3 slices deli turkey (36g protein) S: Coffee (1 12 oz cup) with Splenda & fat-free half and half (2g protein) D: 3 oz lean meat (chicken or fish, usually) & 1/4 veggie (15-20g protein) S: Protein Bar (15-20g protein) AND/OR popcorn 100+ oz water throughout the day I don't really worry about fat or carb grams. I focus on protein and they just kinda take care of themselves. I log everything on fitday.com and if, at the end of the day, I have more protein grams than fat and carb grams I consider it a successful day. I hope this helps. XOXOXO, Sharyn

Wendy, I am 2.8 yrs from surgery. I still log on fitday.com daily. It sure makes you aware of what and how much you are actually eating. It is free so thats good and helpful too. If you still want to loose I would stick to the basic diet. When you reach your goal you can branch out a bit. I still stay at about 800 to 1000 calories a day if i can. I do watch the fat and carbs. I do try to drink and exercise as we are told to do. Protein is the focus for anything i eat. I drink protein drinks also 1 a day now. If your content dont add any calories. Best to you, Cha
