Hi I was wondering if anyone has taken or if is even ok to take diet aids after wls? I wouldn't think so, but my friend who is 2 years out and has gone up 2 sizes started taking Lipozene. I thought maybe ths would effect her pouch does anyone know?

Dot- I would encourage your friend not to waste her money. What a vicious cycle weight loss is.....it just goes to show you that wls is not a cure all. We still need to work at it every day. If these so called weight loss pills really worked then none of us would have gone through surgery in the first place. I hate to see people go back to wasting their money on pills that make promises but, don't work. Try to encourage her to get back to the basics - eat protein, drink water and exercise before spending money on pills. Be there for her and support her and hopefully she can get back on track. Teri

Post-ops already are on an appetite suppressant...a built-in one. It just kicks in AFTER eating. ~~Sherry

I have been hungry and so I wont go up in weight my doc put me on a course of fasten. I am not sure what Lipozene is but mine is through the doctors care. I would make sure she talks with her doctore before she proceeds. *smile*

I would think it would be just as effective post op as it was preop. If it worked, it would be in all the news, not just in ads from the company. If pills worked (and were safe) I would have been thin already and not needed surgery. encourage your friend to get back on track by using her pouch appropriately, making good choices and exercisng. It can't work it you don't eat right AND exercise.
