Marsha,
Congratulations on the birth of your new son!
Because you are postpartum, I suspect you might find more support and information about weight gain and getting back into control after the baby is born on the pregnancy forum. That said, of course, you are always welcome here!
I am simply not qualified to answer your question or share my experience because I am not a doctor and I haven't been where you are.
As always, when you have a question or concern about your health, please contact your healthcare professional(s).
Best to you,
Vanessa
Hi Marsha,
First let me say, what a BEAUTIFUL baby!!!! Love the smile! Now to share my experience...it is not with giving birth post-op, BUT I had severe polycystic ovary syndrome pre-op-only having one period every year and 1/2. Now, post-op, I have it like clock work. It was VERY hard to learn about cravings and PMS! I felt like a failure every month as I got into a rut...began eating choc and couldn't stop. I was VERY hard on myself. One day, my brain and body decided enough was enough and it just clicked back on schedule. I lost the 10 pounds I had regained plus additional loss and feeling very comfortable and confident again. In fairness, you are dealing with a lot of hormones right now. You are doing terriffic if you are even keeping the plan in your mind! If the weight gain is from the meds...talk with your dr. I had to have a med switch (for bladder control) as it was WAY to strong for me being post-op. The dr was great, knowing my surgery history and we worked together to find the right med and dosage! Good luck sweetie and again, congrads on your adorable child!!! Laurie
