Well, I finally made it into a new Bariatric Dr. I can't believe how hard it is to find a Dr to follow you if he hasn't done your surgery. It is not like I am a crackpot......My surgeon retired. Anyway, I found one and I have been to see him and here is what he had to say...... I am only 27% body fat. I should not try to lose anymore weight. He thinks the weight I think I want to lose is just skin. If I had that removed, then I would be the weight I want to be. He actually suggested I try to gain a little. We compromised on muscle gain..... I weigh 165..... He is going to scope me next week....wants to see how things are looking down there and see if I have ulcers etc. I have a new hernia. I have already had eight of them repaired. They put in a piece of mesh to prevent me from getting them again. The new one is where one of the holes from another repair is....But, we can't fix it right now because I am too unhealthy. I will be getting an iron transfusion also next week. I am anemic....no big shock to any of us there. I will continue to have my weekly B12 shots as well as supplementing with sublingual. He cannot figure out why, if I am getting weekly shots, that my levels are still so low..... I will begin to see a hemotologist next week to address this. He gave me so many supplements to take that I can't even imagine. But I should have been taking them all along....... He said that if I can't get my labs under control, that he wants to reverse my surgery (distal RNY). I informed him that was not an option. I did not go through all of this just to have it reversed....no way no how!!!!! So hopefully with all of this, and keeping up with all that I have been doing the past month (protein shakes, watching what I eat, excercising) I should have a little more energy soon, and not fel like a Zombie..... I will let you know the results of all my further testing. All in all nothing was a big surprise. I just couldn't get my new PCP to go along with what I wanted her to do. Now I have someone who will.

Sharlene: Hi, read your post and am wondering, how tall are you? Also, how did your Dr determine your body fat?? Calipers, or new electronic device?? I would be curious to see my own body fat percentage!! Good luck, and thanks in advance for your response!! DeeAnn R

I am 5'7"....I used to be 5'9", so this was a little shock to me..... He had me stand on this thing that looked like a scale, but had little metal feet.....he input my age, weight....and maybe some other stuff? Sharlene

Sharlene, did you say you have had 8 hernias?? Are they the internal hernia? I am recovering from a massive internal hernia and I can't imagine going through this again. May God bless you and your health. Georgina
