Anyone 5'2
I tell myself that I am 5'3"...I am really a hair over 5'2".
Started at 280#.
No idea what my BMI was...it's all too painful!
Today I hover between 122# and 126#.
I live life as a normal person.
I eat real food.
I do not diet.
I have not experience regain, bounceback or other cute terms that we use for the scariest part of this whole WLS thing. I have been successful for 5 years.
If you have read my posts before you know that I contend there are no secrets. It's all about unstoppable commitment.
I do not detail all that much on my profile. I have not updated for a long while. I think there is a before and after kinda thing on my profile.
Shorty but Sporty.

Hi Rachel! I am 5'1/2" and started out weighing 261 pounds. My BMI was 51. I had
lap rny on January 10, 2005 and currently weigh 145 pounds. Ideally, I would like to lose another 20 pounds. I am 19 months post op and have not lost more than five pounds since February, 2006. But I am still happy with my weight loss.
I just had a TT on March 6, 2006. I would like to have more ps done, but my budget does not allow for it. I would not worry too much about the excess skin, but concentrate on using the new "tool" that you will receive when you have the WLS.
Make sure to take all your vitamins and supplements including your protein. I always
made sure that I consumed as few carbs as possibly and did not eat anything that had
real sugar in it. I used Equal or Sweet-n-Low for my cooking. Don't forget to exercise
too.
I wish you all the best, and my advice would be for you to follow through with your doctor's instructions after the surgery. You can always deal with the "loose skin" problem later.
Take care and God Bless.
Aloha, Pat

Rachel,
I am also 5 2, 50 years old. I am at my goal of 125. It took me about a year to get to goal. I have had plastics and am thrilled with results.
I had serious complications with my WLS and none with my plastics. I have lots of pics on my profile.
Feel free to ask any questions my profile does not answer.
Good luck
Mary
Hi Rachel
from Rachel. I'm 5'2", too! I have PCOS with insulin resistance, started out at 344, now at 148, have some loose skin issues, which my surgeon says accounts for at least 15-20 lbs of my current weight. I'm in a size 10 petite now, started at Women's size 34. I've had complications, it hasn't been an easy road for me, but I've accepted that this is the choice I made and my life now on this path, so I go on. Feel free to check out my profile.
Good luck to you!
Rachel
