So, I've been having issues lately with eating too much junk food (carbs really ARE evil!) and not getting in enough protein, so I decided to go to the Vitamin Shoppe and get myself some Nectar. I like the fuzzy navel flavor pretty good, so I'll drink it willingly enough, and it's relatively low cal since I make it with water. I figure that 140 calories are not too bad for the 35 grams of protein it gives me (I mix it strong). So far so good, right? Welll.... while I was there, I saw the power crunch bars and started thinking about how so many folks say they're good. And since I do occasionally crave something sweet, if they taste halfway OK, it would be better for me to eat that and get the protein than just.... eat junk, right? Welll.... I got the triple chocolate and I like the damn things! So now I've got to not only convince myself to not eat sweets, I've got to manage to convince myself that just because it's a 'protein' bar doesn't mean it's OK to just eat for the hell of it! Arrgghhh!!!!!!!!!!!

Kris, I tasted the PowerCrunch Bars for the first time about a month ago. Those suckers are Amazing!!! I go without sweets most all of the time, and never have sugar Cause I still Dump easily. But, a 'Cookie's and Cream' Power Crunch Bar, Frozen in the freezer? Is Food of the gods!! I have resisted buying any since tasting them, But may have to get a box just to keep for special occasions. All I could think was- "So That's what all the Hubbub was about!" As long as the splurges are that protein-full, (and expensive) It should help keep the bad effects to a minimum. Best Wishes- Dx

Hmmm, now, I do have one more, and it just happens to be the cookies and creme flavor... I left it in my desk drawer to keep me safe overnight, lol, but I might just have to pop that bad boy in the freezer for my afternoon snack tomorrow! And yea, that IS what all the hubbub's about, LOL!

Kris, I'm so glad I didn't discover Power Crunch bars until I was at goal. They are so good! I have to limit myself to one per day (I figure it into my calorie allotment) or I would want to eat them all day long!! I feel your pain.....all of the other bars would sit in my pantry for months untouched. Not these! Hugs, Connie -147#

I'll join the Power Crunch throng. They rock! And I haven't tried 'em frozen... yet. Buy them individually so no harm yet. I do not do much on the protein bars because of sugar alcohols and how they affect me but... PC are great but I also found the Atkins Chocolate Chip Granola bars. They are phasing them out and doing smaller ones and labelling as "breakfast bars". They are amazing. But I suspect they are causing me to look for something sweet which is why I'm glad I don't have white sugar at all. Cravings. So, I need to not buy them. Not sure if the PC bars cause the same... desires in me. I too have to limit myself on these things. Too easy. Too convenient. Kathy
