Eating SO MUCH
What is wrong with me? I hit my all time low, got my period, and have been eating EVERYTHING that hasn't been nailed down. I even stole potato chips from my co-worker.
HELP! It is all psychological - I am going through a lot of stress right now. Stress = eating, always been my issue.
HELP!!

I don't have any solutions (I wish that I did). I just want you to know that you are so very NOT alone! Right before and during my cycle, I could eat the house down if I let myself. Those are the times that I make sure there is NOTHING in the house that I can binge on that will be TOO detrimental to myself. But, man-o-man, can I pile in the baby carrots, watermelon and asparagus...and go looking for more! DH like chips, etc. packed in his work lunch...needless to say, he packs his own lunch during that time. Either that, or he gets carrots and on apple...LOL
Anyhoo...just wanted to let you know that, while I in no way can help, I can commiserate...

I get that way too~especailly the week before. I can and will eat everything and anything! Its so frustrating b/c I feel like I have no self control at those times. Thankfully it usually calms down within a week and things get back to normal! And stress definitely = eating for me too.

It's NOT just stress -- it's hormonal. Two weeks of the month I'm in pretty good control, and two weeks a month I am out of control. It's some potent ****tail of different hormones that fluctuate over the month. I'm sure stress doesn't help -- that affects hormones (like adrenaline) too. These compulsions are rooted in strong physical changes in our bodies that create an almost impossible-to-resist urge to eat.
I feel your pain. I am about a week away from my period, and have too eaten everything that hasn't moved. Chips, chocolate, coconut macaroons, twizlers, oops they just went into the garbage, now I won't grab them. I got on the scale am up 3 - 4 lbs, that is normal for this time of the month. I will eat straight up until I get my cycle, then I will not be able to eat for the following two weeks, not much anyway. Go through this every month. I tried eating fruit, yeah right, no help there. Hopefully this will stop soon...

Laura, I concur with the other posters, I feel like I eat constantly about 10 days out of the month, craving chocolate at that. I sure don't remember it being so severe pre-op, of course I ate junk all the time so I probably just didn't realize it.
I'm purging the house again this weekend and will shop for healthier options. This scares the crap out of me.
