I'm 15 month post-op. I have not lost any weight since I was 10 month post-op. Do you think if I went back to day one I will start to lose again. Do you think if I only do liquid for 2 weeks then semi solid food the next two weeks then solid food after that I will start to lose again. If I start from the beginning do you think I will lose as fast as I did right out of surgery. Please, if there is anyone out there who has been on a 5 month plateau then went back to the post-op diet and there weight loss picked back up please respond to me and shed some light. I don't know what I will do if I can't get the last 35lbs off.

I stopped losing any considerable amount of weight at month 9 . I have had to work for every pound lost after #100 I started at 360 and since 9/03 I have lost 160 total pounds. I can tell you that whenevr I follow the original rules...protein first...tons of water...exercise (even if moderate) I do lose. I hope you get the last of your weight off.. Just dont give up!!!! I really slowed down at about 1yr. I agree with Diana that if I go back to basics~push protein firs****er water water and up my exercise things seem to move again naturally~I have to closely watch my carb intake during this time b/c carbs and weightloss just don't go together for me. I also find that if I drop my calories too low the scale won't budge a pound so doing liquids, pureeds and then solids probably wouldn't work for me (although I've never tried it). Good Luck to you and let us know how things are going! Tracy B 328/150 5'9"

I stopped losing at 11 months. I still want to lose 30-40 lbs more. I made no changes in my diet, was eating 1200 cal per day on average.. At my 12 month appointment, my doctor said "don't worry, the weight will come off". 6 months (and +3 lbs) later he said I need to turn into an exercise fanatic if I hope to lose more weight. I've been working with my nutritionist, who worked with me to educe my calories to 1000 daily which iI find pretty hard to do. I've also been working with a physical therapist to help me increase the intensity of my activity without killing my arthritic feet, ankles, knees and lower back, combining cardio with strength training. Now I have to do it every day. The PT tells me that it may take 6 months of intense cross-training to convert my metabolism into one that operates more actively. Sue O.
