My doctor recommends 2 forms of birth control for the first 18-24 months post op. He doesn't want any of his patients getting pregnant too soon. Especially when we can't eat enough for ourselves when we're early out. With the added jump infertility with the weight loss in the first year, two forms of birth control are usually advised. You can have a baby when your weight has stabilized and your labs are all good. Check with your doc. Some say not to get pregnant the first year, others want you to wait longer. Check the pregnancy forum for more info.
