Happy B-day to me

Yikes!!! Today is my birhtday... where did the year go??? I have to say that I don't feel the age I turned today. OK... I'm 37 I think a lot of my not feeling my age physically (and maybe even mentally ) has to do with WLS. I remember when I turned 25 and I felt sooo very old and tired. Today I can't wait to get outside and go to the county fair and take a walk with my dog... things I might have done at 25 but didn't enjoy as much as I do today. I guess in a nut shell I don't feel limited and therefore don't feel 37. Tracy A.

Tracy, Not only do you not feel 37, but you don't look it either! Not that 37 is old--geez, wish I were 37! But as I just read your profile, I can tell you're feeling kind of melancholy about the passing of time. You might not be exactly where you'd imagined in your life right now, but you've accomplished SUCH a major thing by having wls, and MORE importantly, maintaining the necessary lifestyle to do all the things you couldn't do before. And what a milestone to complete your education? I look at your "before" pics and feel the pain of being a young woman in an obese body--now your outward appearance matches the YOUNG age of 37! I'm 56--feel younger than I did when I was 37! I do look back with such regret on all the decades of morbid obesity that made such an impact on my life as a wife, mother, and really just every role. But maybe I just had to get to this point in my life. I have to believe "everything in its own time." I know you will enjoy the MANY healthy years ahead of you! Happy birthday! Jo

Thanks Trace, We decided to skip the fair, it was the last day so things are pretty much done, and it's 90+ degrees here in Western WI. Very HOT!! But, did go to Caribou Coffee, for a special FREE birthday treat, and hubby and I bought a T-bone steak to grill and share for dinner, so all in all it's been a wonderful day. Very relaxed. Tracy A.
