Hi, I am a 2 1/2 year post op WLS grad, and I am just getting back on the wagon after some time just doing whatever I want, so I need a whole lot of info that I should probably already know. I'll be asking a lot of questions in the upcoming weeks, and I appreciate all the help I can get. What does everyone use as their multivitamin? I am currently using Isontonix, but let me know if there is something better out there Thanks!

There are lots of options out there. I take solgar multi II capsules or solgar VM-75.

I take One Source Women's vitamins, 2 servings per day. I was taking one, but bumped it up to 2 a few months ago on the advice of my surgeon as my hair was thinning noticably in the crown. Still trying to figure out the hair loss, but the vitamins go down fine. I get them at Wal-Mart, under $10 for a 120 capsules (60 servings). There are a ton of vitamins out there. You need to read the labels and find a brand that has the best supply of what we need. I selected the One Source Women's because it had a lot more thiamine than other brands. I do take extra potassium and magnesium and biotin. hope this helps, Sue O.

Hi Josie, I use the Centrum Chewables. For one thing, I really hate swallowing pills, and I don't think these chewables taste bad. Also, although they don't perfectly contain what my nutritionist recommends, they come pretty close when I take 2 a day. I get them at Walmart. I take additional sublingual B12 and calcium citrate (either the liquid Tropical Oasis or the new Citracal Creamy Bites (small chewy squares in several flavors--good!). My 2-yr. follow-up is next mo., so I'll see how my labs come out. Welcome back on top the wagon! You'll find plenty of company here on the grads board--and lots of good advice from those who are doing a great job of fighting the good fight. Jo 295/155ish (at goal)

Thanks so much for the answers, and I think the question I should have added is answered... some people take actual pills, some do chewables. For some reason I thought pills were not as effective, but I am going out to check out WalMart's selection tomorrow! The Isotonix I have been using is REALLY expensive, and does not include nearly what it should! Thanks again! Josie

Jo Its great to see that others don't like to swallow pills too! This was one of my side effects from the surgery...fear of swallowing pills. Maybe I can but I won't! I do optisource and citracal with my once a week Trader Darwin B-12. Labs good except B-12 is still too high. I was told to switch to a Bcomplex. We will see if I can find a chewable or dissolvable....if not I am sticking with the B-12. Have a good day! Debbie
