Dang it, I'm feeling so hungry lately. I really need to get a grip here, I know others have/are going through some of this too. How do you handle it and reign in the desire to eat/graze? Evenings are the pits, I can do so well during the day but come 7:00 p.m. I want food......I know I'll always struggle with this, I'm open to suggestions from others. I'm scared to fall back into my old ways *sigh*. Today's a new day.....working to make it a great one . Dana

Me too Dana. I have found that when I eat celery stalks with peanut butter I get really full and don't fall prey to anything else. And, which can be helpful, I am usually in bed by 8:30 (I get up at 4:30 for work). Sleeping works to stop hunger for me! Laura

i had that problem too...i don't know if this is possible for you but what i did to conquer my night hunger problem is by pushing my dinner time back a little later. that really helps a lot. so i eat dinner around 7 then i have time to wait for my "drink time" and have a little bit of water or crystal light before bed also. maybe that's an option for you.

Hey Dana I am 3 years out in Nov and yes , the hunger sneaks up on you . I didnt research as well as I should have, didnt know how to really and just listened to my surgeon who gave to little advice. His office is the PITTS on aftercare but he is a wonderful surgeon so I took that. He now says , no in between eating and 3 small meals consisting of lean protein , low fat and few vegetables and fruits . LORD anyone will lose weight doing that... Thank God our tool makes us take less to fill us or I would starve... I am depressed too that it didnt stay as easy as it was that first year ........... I am greatful though that I had the surgery, just wish the results stayed the same as it did when we first had surgery. I am thinking though that there are many things we dont yet know about the surgery and how it may affect us in the long run ...I hope and pray it is favorable. Hugs Shirl

Hey Dana, We eat dinner at 730 at night and by 9 or 930 I start wanting to munch, snack, EAT! I dont know how much of a coffee drinker you are but thats what saves me. I buy the instant and nuke some water in microwave. Add Splenda, SF caramel syrup, 1/4c of FF CC milk, and WA LA! Since its so hot it takes me awhile to drink it. By the time I drink a cup or two(12 oz each) its time to go to bed. Thats usually 10 or 1030. This has saved me countless times. Hope it works for you! Candy

Good idea Candy, oh girl am I a coffee drinker , I probably drink to much but I do find drinking coffee keeps the hunger away, maybe that's why I'm not hungry early in the day. I'm going to try the decaf (usually all I drink anyway) and see if that works. Thanks for the idea Candy. Dana

Dana, I know what you mean. I go thru times where I am so hungry and I just want SOMETHING, ANYTHING!!!!! urgh, its very frustrating. Last night I was that way so I had a NSA Carnation Instant Breakfast drink~chocolate flavored b/c what I really wanted was Chocolate Ice cream, LOL. anyway, it hit the spot and took the hunger away. Good Luck tonite! Tracy B 328/150 5'9

((((((((((Dana))))))))))) I'm going through the same thing...wish I had some wisdom to impart to both of us. Come about 8:00 PM, nothing better be moving; because it it isn't nailed down, it better run FAST!! LOL My only (somewhat) solution has been to just go to bed and *try* to sleep...
