to those who have gained and re-lost weight, .....
.....I have a question. What helped you get motivated to lose again? Did you have to go on all liquids to get backon track? Did you get all the weight you gained back off? I know, tons of questions. I just need a little hope. I am 3 years post op and have gained 20 pounds in the last few months and need some motivation to get it off. I just let up on the carbs and have lost 5 pounds in the last 4 days! Now I need to get moving. Tell me your stories, PLEASE!!!!!

Hi nice to meet you. I am new here and I'm 17 months out, with the weight gain you are experiencing has been my worry after 12 months. Can you still talk to your dietican or surgeons office? That might be a good place to start...maybe you could take some food charts in and they can get you on track. I'm glad you have lost 5 lbs that was good thinking on your part to cut the carbs. I know my dietican says to up the protien and water - I keep to the shakes still - maybe I'm insecure about giving them up - and when I get into the carbs here comes 5 lbs. I hate that, but in a way it is good and I hop the scales everyday so I know what I need to do that day. TAke care and don't be so hard on yourself - you did it once and you can do it again...take a walk or do what ever you like to exercise. Please let me know how it is going. Thanks -deb k
Sounds like giving up the evil carbs was half the battle! When I need to get back on track I use fitday.com which is a free website where you can enter all the food you eat every day and see exactly what you're getting in terms of calories, protein, fat, and carbs. You can also enter your exercise and compare how many calories you're burning versus how many you're taking in. It's time-consuming, but even if you do three days, you can get an idea of what you're getting.
I gained 5# on a 12-day vacation/cruise in May, and I've just this week gotten serious about getting it off. The key for me is exercise and going back to basics, protein and veggies or salads. And lots of water. And it's working, I've only got 1-1/2# more to go!
There are lots of us here who are in the same boat. It helps to have the support of the people here on the grads board.
Keep posting, we'll help keep each other motivated!!

Wow! It sounds like you're back on track to me! Congrats!
I'm only 18mths post op, so I've only had a few pound or two gains here and there. What helps to motivate me to get the extra pounds off is focusing on something~an upcoming dr appt, wedding, social event, etc. That ALWAYS motivates me b/c I want to look and feel my best at those times! In fact, that's where I'm at right now! I partied just a little bit too much over the 4th of July holiday and I have a dr appt with my surgeon next Friday so I got myself back on track and I'm back down already.
Wishing you continued success!

Congrats on a great start.... down 5 lbs would be my motivator to keep going!!
When I wanted to get back on track and gain control before I regained too much weight I decided to come back to OH for encouragement from others who've been there done that.
So far so good.
And, like one of the other posts I find that my Fitday.com program really helps me to keep track of my intake daily.
Best of Luck!
