New to the board but not to WLS
Hi Everyone!
My name is Jessica and I am 6 years post op! Every time I say that it still surprises me! It's been 6 years since I was 270-ish and now I am 155-ish. I wear a size 10-12 and am 5'7". I'm getting married this summer and will be wearing my wedding gown which gives me a perfect hourglass figure! I am so happy! But more than just my figure, I feel good.
Is there anyone out there who is also very far past their WLS surgery? I'm interested to hear from others who are far away from it. I haven't posted on a message board in years but thought it might be nice to get back into it.

congratulations Jess on your successful journey! Very cool! Welcome to our board. There are lots of people around who are long term post-ops. I'm three years plus--which seems like nothing next to you. There are plenty others who are longer than me--often they visit here sporadically, so don't be surprized if the come out to say hi slowly--but surely.
Congrats on your 6 year anniversary!!!
It'll be 5 years next month for me. I started at 320+ and now I'm 164-ish. I was down to 152 but alas the dreaded regain got me. I'm working on getting back to 152... I will get there!!
Also congrats on your upcoming wedding!! I got married 9 years ago and was thinking about trying the dress on now... maybe for our 10 year anniversary next year I'll get it resized so we can renew our vows.
Jessica,
I'm not a l-o-n-g time post-op, but I'm getting close to my 2-yr. anniversary, and I love seeing posts from successful long-timers like you! Sure gives all of us an encouraging boost! You've done great!
I struggle with about 5 lbs., and although I'm by no means thin (& would love to be 10 lbs. lower), I'm thrilled with my weight at this stage of my life. I've lost large amounts of weight in the past--many times--but never maintained a significant loss EVER. I have been at this weight for a year now, which is practically a miracle.
Hope to see you here a lot!
Jo
