Final Day - Plateau Busters

Well, it's the last of the 10 days on this thing. I am glad!!! It wasn't horrible, but I really want some veggies. So far Ive got a total of a five pound loss. That's something. I think I killed myself with the peanut butter. It's very fatty, but I ate it daily because it said I could. Also, I did not excercise like I should have. I think more weight would have come off if I would have skipped eating peanut butter, and took the time out to excercise. But hey, it's 5 pounds gone instead of gained!! I can keep the momentum from here on out. I might take up country western dancing, that's some excercise and I might get to meet some men! -=db=-

Congrats on your hard-earned loss! I'm new to this board and popped in looking for posters who are trying to lose those last 10 lbs, or those wanting to get seriously back on track. Can you email me about your plateau busting diet? I have been trying - half heartedly - to lose 10 more lbs...the scale doesn't budge. I'm sure if I put some more effort into it I can do it. Thanks for any ideas! Julie

Hi, I finished the p.b. diet a few weeks ago. I lost 10lbs on it. My dr. said I could do any diet for 10 days and it wouldn't hurt me. However, I don't think I would recommend it. Both, DH and I went on it and have been sick for a week. Mine is a stomach (lower) ache with loose stools- diverticulitis and a bladder infection. I haven't been sick in 4 years! Hubby has a sinus infection. Now I realize that our "getting sick" probably had absolutely nothing to do with the diet but I still don't think it is very healthy. I didn't eat much p.nut butter and did exercise but I felt woosie during it. If I want a plateau buster diet again, I'd do it but I would add fiber. I just got too plugged up!!! I'm happy about your success with it. Keep up the good work. Dancin D 7/7/04 rny/lap -200lbs.

Oooh, yes. I hear ya. Things have been a bit painful to say the least. I have started on The South Beach diet and it's much kinder and gentler and though it's only the first day, I feel happy that I got to have salad!! I went to dinner with friends this evening and I had the broiled fi**** was really good. I started eating the fish first and only finished about half the porion they served (huge portions in restaurants) and only had a bite of the steamed veggies. -=db=-

So Dee .....how are you doing on South Beach? I am doing ok. Tuesday will be one week for me. I have had no 'white' carbs. Last night I made the roasted eggplant and peppers from the SB book....but the instructions weren't right. I baked em for 25 minutes and the eggplant still wasn't done. Next time I'll put them on a cookie sheet instead of in a casserole. I also added some zucchini....tasted great. We also had Alaskan King Crab legs.....no dip for me. And it was wonderful. I am taking care of my both my sweet tooth and fruit craving with sugar free popsickles. Drinking lots of water. We are going to DJs tonight and I plan eat steamed shrimp with a few bites of cole slaw. Giving up the bread and pototos and rice is not really hard. Except when I go to Stonewood's....hehe. I just tell them NOT to bring the bread basket. Works ok. But I do love that sourdough bread. I'll treat myself to some.....later. On my way over to walk on the beach before the rain starts. Have a great Sunday. Charlie

Daytona Beach! I wish I were there. i have a friend who lives there and I was supposed to go next month, but it's not going to happen. I guess I am doing okay on SB, it's only day two. I just had breakfast of egg, turkey sausage onion and pepper and I am stuffed! My tragix flaw is rice and pasta. I really like those things but they are a thing of the past for a while. -=db=-

I had cheese and canadian bacon for breakfast.....just had a protein shake. If you do get to Daytona...let me know. The beach is calling so come on down..... I'm trying to do more fish and less chicken and beef. I still sometimes have a little trouble with chicken....but I can eat medium rare steak till its coming out my ears. I also loooove rice. I can eat brown, and will from now on...but I can eat just a bowl of white rice with butter and be happy as a pig in slop. I'm trying not to weigh every day....and didn't today. Will try to wait till Tuesday morning to see what's up. I'll post it.... I bought some Healthy choice ham slices and I make a sandwich every day for lunch out of lettuce leaves and mayo and sliced tomato. I don't miss the bread at all. I'm really trying to eat regular meals and snacks. I found myself not eating meals but grabbing stuff on the go (NOT fast food) and I was apparently doing it way too often. I feel more in control.... I am going to see my surgeon in September and I hope to be back at goal weight by then. Although I haven't gained a lot of weight...he is not happy. And I want to keep him happy.... cya Charlie
