Vickie--I just did a quick check on the hotels for the conference. Ya know I think $149. per night for a hotel in a corporate park, on a week-end, in August for Fort Lauderdale is kinda silly. Westin is offerring a $99 Florida resident rate which is not available for that week-end. Anyhow--I will do more research--but a quick look seems to show that there are hotels available for much less--I am unsure of how close they are to the Westin, however. It would be great to find a place within walking distance to the Westin. I will continue my research. Orlando was so much better for an event. I'm still pretty disappointed that after the great turnout last year they didn't schedule a 'big' event for Orlando. Fort Lauderdale is actually closer to me but Orlando is such a central location with so much to do. When do you arrive for the lbl? I am so jealous. I wish I had done that instead of just the tt. If you arrive soon enough it would be great if you could see if there is anything walkable to the Westin. Anyway--I will definitely keep you informed of any plans. Good luck on the lbl!
